We're aware that a number of ITPs may have new courses/qualifications under development and be wondering when the cut-off is for submitting these to ITP Quality under the current approval criteria.

 The ITP Quality Board has welcomed two new members. Warwick Bell and Therese Keil fill the academic/industry and student perspective specialist positions. You can read about their backgrounds (here).

 A summary of the Board decisions have now been published for the Board meetings. Our aim is to publish future Board decisions (once the minutes have been ratified by the Board) following each Board meeting. We hope that the information will be useful, not only as a record of what has been approved, but also to keep the wider sector informed about recent trends.

Strategic Direction 2011-2015

The ITP Quality Board would like to hear from your organisation on its draft strategy for the period 2011 to 2015.

Recent changes in the ITP sector and ongoing reforms in the quality assurance regime in tertiary education mean that the next five years will not be 'business as usual' for ITP Quality.

The move to an external evaluation and review (EER) model has been a significant shift for ITP Quality. The new approach to quality

The report highlights key activities and achievements over the past year, including the development of a new quality assurance system, the approval of a collaboratively developed degree programme and a strengthened financial position.

A Self Assessment Conference/Symposium will be held at Otago Polytechnic on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2010. A Steering Group with Phil Ker, Judith Brown, and representatives from NZQA, NZUAAU, the ITF and with support from Ako Aotearoa are currently developing a programme for the conference, and information will be made available during May 2010.
