The move to an external evaluation and review (EER) model has been a significant shift for ITP Quality. The new approach to quality changes the focus of quality assurance from a traditional audit approach focussing on inputs and processes, to a new evaluative approach focussed on the valued outcomes of tertiary education. Under this system all ITPs are required to engage in ongoing self-assessment, and the results of this process are to be used to inform the external evaluation and review (EER) conducted by ITP Quality.

This year we have completed three EER exercises and have a further four scheduled later in the year. The first EER report for Bay of Plenty Polytechnic can be found (here). This was an extremely successful exercise, and the feedback from Bay of Penty Polytechnic staff involved in the exercise was that it was an empowering and valuable process.

All the completed EER reports will be posted on our website as they are completed.
